Hello, fellow explorers!
Why Neural Navigations?
To be honest, it's not just about navigating through the vast world of neurodiversity, my attempts and struggles with cPTSD, technology, generative art, and whatever else I feel like writing about in the moment. It's a reflection of my own neural journey, navigating life with ADHD, cPTSD, and now ... maybe ASD, too.
It all began with a fascination with generative AI. While I am tech-savvy, coding was never my thing. However, hacking at and playing around with existing code has always felt ... intuitive. Through tinkering such as this, I found ways to enhance my day-to-day productivity at work. I found I was able to conjure intriguing imagery using generative AI models, despite not being traditionally “artsy”, and despite disabilities that made drawing, or even learning how to, a significant challenge.
Wow, finally - I could see an image in my mind and do something to make it appear in front of me. Sure, there's a lot of prompt crafting and curation - and sure, I likely alter (sometimes siginificantly, sometimes very little) the image in photoshop or something, but getting to that point is what I found truly amazing.
But hey, who said art has boundaries, you ask?
Plenty of folks, apparently!
I'm sure I'll have plenty to say on that subject. I might even have a guest or two try and change my mind. I'm sure I won't have difficulty finding someone who'd like to give it a shot!
Being an introvert, the idea of shouting about ...anything... from the rooftops wasn’t appealing. But the internet? Sure! I don't know how I feel about being a "content creator" as the term stands today - sure, this is content, sure I'm creating it... but you know what I mean, right? I have zero interest in being in front of a camera. Of course - there's deep seated reasons for that which need exploration... That's where the idea of Neural Navigations sprouted—a blog, maybe some insights, a record of my trials and tribulations related to some of the above, and.... whatever else, mainly.
At Neural Navigations, expect:
1. Neurodiversity Explored: Dive into the diverse world of neurodiversity, where we’ll discuss not just ADHD, but also the spectrum of neurological variations including ASD. Expect insights, experiences, and strategies for thriving in a neurotypical world. (ok, I'm open to hearing your strategies for thriving ... still working on mine!)
2. Technology Unveiled: Stay updated with the latest in technology, particularly focusing on how AI and digital innovations are shaping our future. From cloud computing to the latest in AI art, we’ll demystify tech one byte at a time.
3. Healing Journeys: Delve into the personal and often challenging journeys of healing from cPTSD and childhood trauma. Share and learn from stories of resilience, coping strategies, and the pursuit of emotional well-being. Trigger warnings galore here, but I'll do my best to make sure they are visible.
4. Artistic AI Adventures: Explore the intersection of art and artificial intelligence. See how AI is not just a tool but a collaborator in the creative process, and how it’s changing the landscape of art as we know it.
5. Life at the Intersection: The crossroads of professional life, personal passions, and the unique challenges and joys that come with being neurodiverse in a high-demand world.
6. Community and Support: In the vast and often challenging journey through life, we are never alone. Here at Neural Navigations, it is my aim to cultivate a community where understanding and shared experiences are the foundations of a place where support is abundant, stories are shared openly, and connections with others on similar paths are forged.
7. Personal Development: Tips, advice, and stories focused on personal growth and development, particularly tailored for those navigating neurodiversity and healing from past traumas.
8. Advocacy and Awareness: Articles and discussions aimed at raising awareness about neurodiversity, mental health, and the importance of inclusive practices in all aspects of life.
In true Douglas Adams fashion (huge fan here!), this journey might sometimes feel like hitchhiking across the galaxy.
It’s going to be weird, wonderful, and wacky all at once.
I'll be honest: I'm sure there's going to be stops, starts, deletes, edits, detours and diversions, too.
In the coming months, expect to read a chronicle of my pursuits, curiosities, and (sometimes haphazard) discoveries—not quite seamlessly blended with personal anecdotes and explorations. Because while Neural Navigations is deeply entrenched in the digital, its heartbeat is profoundly human.
So, buckle up, and
Vaya con dios
